Hipocritical Mami?

Yup! I said it! This is going to be a "BARE NAKED" blog post, so bare with me! Nothing like a good joke to start off with.

A few months back someone said some bad things about me and, yeah, called me (can't say what she actually said) hypocritical! And I have to admit that it did hurt for a while and I kinda stalked her to see what else she would say about me, lol. Lame! I know. But now, lets look at the word...

HYPOCRITE:
n. A person who pretends to have virtues, moral or religious beliefs, principles, etc., that he or she does not actually possess, especially a person whose actions belie stated beliefs.
Now, my problem is not just with what she said, but with EVERYONE who thinks this way and thinks they have the right to judge other mothers (or people for that matter)! It just gets under my skin. We each have our own way to raise our children, what we feed them, how we dress them, so on and so fourth.

And that word... it's just annoying as well. "A person who pretends to have virtues." Without virtue it would be hard for some people to succeed, would it not. There would be no fairy tales or happy endings. The poor would stay poor and the sad (whether rich or poor) would stay sad. Isn't that sad.

Anywho, she was saying she hated my blog and that I was such a hypocrite. This blog is not called the, "I'm Perfect Blog," It's called "The Mami Blog." Mami is Mommy in Spanish and thought it would be a good way to show my heritage. I also share my menu and the occasional recipe that is usually a "Mexican" dish. I also post personal photos, and Eco-friendly tips, which I think I'm true at showing our life-style.

There are so many negative people in this world and so many people who feed into their crazy-ness. I know vloggers who stopped vlogging because of these people. I kept on going and just want to tell all the other bloggers and vloggers out there that.....

Blogging, even if you don't do it full-time, is hard work. We have a great readers and a great support system as well. Don't let those bad seeds (and the voices in your head) get to you! And to all the mommy bloggers out there... here are some quotes I wanted to share with ya'll!

===================
A mother is a person who seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never did care for pie.  ~Tenneva Jordan

The moment a child is born, the mother is also born.  She never existed before.  The woman existed, but the mother, never.  A mother is something absolutely new.  ~Rajneesh

I remember my mother's prayers and they have always followed me.  They have clung to me all my life.  ~Abraham Lincoln

How do you overcome those bad seeds in your life?

  1. I pray and forgive and read my bible. Sometimes people are mean cause they are jealous. Not much you can do but to forgive them.

  2. I recently had a situation where I had heard that a person was saying bad things about me (and my relationship) behind my back and I couldn't take it anymore. My solution? I asked her out to coffee. I decided that, instead of stalking (we all do it, eh?!) her or being hurt by her words, I was going to act like an adult in the situation and have an adult conversation with her.

It was great!!! It took a lot of prayers to build up the courage, but afterwards I felt really amazing and we were able to have a civil conversation, thank goodness!

So I guess I try to handle things head-on, with positive behavior and energy and a ton of prayers!

    1. That is awesome. Yes, I actually did invite her out, but she declined. Turn the other cheek right. Thanks.

  3. Don't let the haters get to you. I tend to ignore negativity and it's working out really well. You blog about what makes you happy. Who cares what those other people think?

  4. Haters are going to hate! As long as you know you are doing your best, that is all that matters.

  5. Don't let someone else steal your joy. Stay focused on your goals. Lots of great advice in the previous comments! :-)

  6. Blogging is indeed no easy task. I admire every one of us who's doing it, especially with passion.

  7. That's really a shame and I'm sorry that happened! I do think that people are great at judging, especially via the internet when we can hide. It's great to see that you are being honest that it hurt, but not bitter about it!

  8. I am laughing about this because I just went through this last week with one of my blog readers and started a nice debate!! Keep your chin up.

  9. Kill them with kindness is my motto :)

I will admit though, I can be a hypocrite in various points of my life. But I don't want people especially strangers to call me out on it. LOL! Sometimes this online blogging world can get ugly. I hope it doesn't happen to me ever though.

Keep on blogging and don't worry about haters.

    Blessings!

  10. The biggest thing is to remember the truth. If what they are saying is NOT true, we don't have to be worried about our actions. And prayers helps. Giving it all up to God because He can handle it. :)

  11. I love that you are blogging about the experience. All too many times we either ignore these negative people or let them get to us and let it keep us from doing what we love to do.

Love what LaVonne said..."Kill them with kindness is my motto :)" She is so dead on.

  12. Taking any kind of criticism on the chin is tough, I find it very difficult - it's too easy to fly off the handle and not, as you have done, take a step back and give yourself some space and distance.

Always remember any commenter has their own agenda, they may not like someone, they may be jealous (yes JEALOUS!) of how your blog/life/ideas are working out.

There have been some admirable responses to your blog here - thank you everyone. It is TOO EASY to be critical, to be mean, to be angry or simply negative because you disagree with somone. Real people type responses, real people read them, this we need to remember.

  13. Hey Cinella,

I remember you from so many of the #clothdiapers chats & various Twitter parties, heck I think we're even friends on Facebook! I'm so thrilled I came across your blog as a result of the Blogelina comment event :) For what it's worth I think you are an awesome mama and love that you do your best to live an eco-conscious lifestyle. I'm so glad you didn't let one rotten egg stop you from blogging and sharing your knowledge with the world! There will always be haters, trolls , b%t#he$, or whatever you want to call them, and the solution for dealing with them is quite simple: ignore them. Thanks for sharing this post- I'll definitely have to check out some of your recipes!!

  14. It's very hard for me to 'let things roll off' so I do understand, but it's always best to 'rise above' any negative criticism that is poured out onto us...as long as you know you've not intentionally hurt someone...or compromised your beliefs... ;-}

  15. It can be hard to deal with sometimes. I usually feel better after venting to my hubby. And you're right - if we don't claim to be perfect how are we hypocrites? Life is full of things that don't make sense but it works abd life goes on.

  16. I look at bad seeds as challenges to learn from, something to grow from, then move on.

Thank you for the lovely post.

  17. I have once been called a liar and the other person went to a public forum to bash me about it. It hurt especially because I was telling the truth. It's hard to forgive that person because she never apologized to me even after I showed proof that I wasn't lying. I was down for a few days but then I decided I shouldn't let it get to me especially because I know I did nothing wrong. Now when I see that person doing the same thing to others, it's just so hard for me to believe her because I always remember the time she did that to me. I guess some people just really love causing drama.

    1. That sucks. I know a lot of mamas do it just to let others know about their situation, but yeah, never getting an apology it makes it hard to move on. Sorry you had to go through it to.
