Green Tip Tuesday - Bland v Organic!

How about a baby tip for ya'll? Annaleah is now 24 weeks and she's ready to start solids. But hubby and I agreed that we would start at 6 months. She has been wanting to shove food in her mouth for the past few weeks and she will just stare at us as we eat, it's so cute.

So, it is recommended that once your baby is at least Six Months and can sit up on their own or with support as well as showing sings that they are ready, you can start to introduce some solids. There are different ways to do this, including baby-led weaning and you can read more about it HERE.

Most parents will start offering their baby rice cereals and jars of bland baby food that hardly has any nutrients (even organic brands)! Just read the back of the box/jar. Some do offer added vitamins but laced with hidden ingredients.

So my tip for today..... MAKE YOUR OWN, DELICIOUS, BABY FOOD!

I am going to start soon... whenever I make dinner I will put some (the base) in our Baby Breeza and freeze it for her and will include as many organics as possible. Just by using organic fruits and veggies you are inclreaseing flavor for your little one. Have you tasted baby food? No wonder they make that funny face, who would want to eat that. Then you give them a french fry, which would you choose? lol

So, give it a try and let me know what you and your baby love. Share your baby food recipes, I would love to try them!

  1. Homemade baby food is a great idea. Might as well get them a head start on eating healthy. :)

So happy you joined in the hop this week, Cinella!

  2. I made my own baby food for all three of my kids. It was very successful with child #1 as he eats everything and anything. The second one was good until she went into daycare. Then she became picky and it rubbed off on number 3.

It was so easy though and they all loved that they were eating what the rest of us had as well. I definitely recommend it. I would freeze extra in ice cube trays and then put it in freezer bags.

Thanks for linking up to Healthy Tuesday Blog Hop.
